There is a world of communication within our minds and body. This is known as the inner life. Your inner life is your mindset, attitudes, and feelings; it is an active form of communication with yourself.

So, how are you communicating with yourself on the inside?
Language is seen as a symbolic tool used to communicate thoughts, also a representative of our cognitive processes. Language mirrors our thinking, and it is one of the ways in which we communicate our cognitive world.
The inner life is a life of being attuned to yourself. It’s about how connected you are with every aspect of your inner self; thoughts, creativity, logic, dreams, etc.
Most times we put heavy focus on our outward communication with others. But, in order to create an environment that we can thrive in or one that we desire we must focus on our inward communication with ourselves.
There was a program created in the late 70’s by Richard Bagler and John Grinder called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), it is a set of skills that reveal the kind of communication we have with ourselves on the inside. Understanding the language of our mind helps us effectively communicate with ourselves in order to birth the things we truly desire.

Learning the language of your mind is in turn learning how to communicate what you want properly so your mind agrees. Your unconscious mind gives you what it thinks you want, so if the only message you communicate before giving a presentation is that you’re going to be nervous, that’s what it is going to give.
How properly communicating what you want can help to create the outcome you desire
NLP teaches a structural way of viewing mind and body states, developing mental maps that show how things happen and how to change course.
NLP language patterns teach us how to access unconscious information that would remain vague and unknowable otherwise
NLP also helps to not live on autopilot. It helps to understand how programs (habitual thoughts, feelings, reactions, beliefs, and traditions) are structured in the mind and how to access them through conversations so that outdated programs and autopilot behaviors can be changed.
What does all of this mean? You have the possibility to change the way you think or communicate with yourself to match what you desire in any situation. This gives the possibility of not just accepting situations because “that’s the way it is”, and begin to help your mind get in alignment with what you truly desire. By becoming aware of how you are creating a mindset you don’t want, you can do the work to change it. Transforming your inner communication can change what’s going on in your present life.
